Aadukalam Review- Awesome
Jan 15th

Its Ponggal’s 2nd movie for me. As promise, the aadukalam team doesnt disappointed anyone. its the story of the reality. How the small issues creates problems to our life.
Resorting to rural milieu is not something uncommon in Tamil cinema but the director has justified the usage of his premise ably. Having said that, he has employed myriad human emotions like unquestionable trust and the breach of it, loyalty, pain, anguish, manipulation and remorse to convey his tale. Rearing roosters, maintaining them and using them for fights are a way of life and a matter of honor and lifeline to many people.
G V Prakash’s music elevates Aadukalam and intensifies the effect over the audience. Songs are rightly placed and none of them are contrived. While Otha sollaale makes the audience boogie, Ayyayo and Yathe Yathe’s melody enthrals them. His BGM during the pre-interval rooster fight slowly reaching the crescendo adds up to the suspense quotient and the spiralling frenzy. The action sequence especially in the climax is realistic and credible. Velraj’s camera travels to nook and corner of Madurai areas and sucks in the audience to the film.
On the flipside, the film is a tad lengthy in the first half and there are patches of slowness but they are few and far between. It is evident that the director has resorted to graphics for rooster fights to abide by the rules of animal welfare board.
In all, Aadukalam is an attempt that requires appreciation where the director has hackled his way through the path less trodden with aplomb. Aadukalam reiterates that Vetrimaaran belongs to the league of film makers who has understood the semiotics of film making perfectly.
Fyi, in that movie got alot of uncensored words… even some censored, i duno how would be the movie if they didnt censored some bad words from the some scenes… even got the words like”pun…sun…myre….” jz for your info only… but its a nice movie. everyone should watch. Njoy…
Madrasapattinam movie review
Jul 11th

Madrasapattinam is a awesome love story movie and don’t look for alot of documentation in it … you got me? It is a love story set against the backdrop of India that is on the verge of independence.A very nice movie after so long.
The story is between the Arya and Amy Jackson, 1940’s government (Brithis) and with some rural people (dhobi workers).
this movie is a must watch movie. the flow of the movie is interesting and make u to wait for the rest scenes. The BGM and songs + visual are awesome. The director picked the right people for the right movie. Even, Nirav’s camera is really very good.
But the scene-stealer is young G V Prakash Kumar. He has come up trumps with the songs that reflect the time. What more, the background score is apt for the movie. At places, he reminds one of maestro Ilayaraja. He has shown a lot of promise and ‘Madrasapattinam’ is sure to take him places. The sorrow of a woman missing her lover has been brought out well by Prakash’s background score.
Arya- performance is outstanding… his attempt to become fit & suit the character is there. he work out very well for this movie.
Amy Jackson- She looks absolutely beautiful, emotes well through her expressive eyes and is able to earn the sympathy of the audiences during tough times. i got to know that she is very friendly, saw her interview of Madrasapattinam premier show. Wish she will do more project in future.
Favorite Songs:
- Pookal Pookum
- Aaruyire
- Vaa ma Durai Amma
Hello there, make a chance to watch this movie when it is in cinema… you will be in, Feel Of Love.
Regards,
Eyezmachi.
