Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya Movie Review: VTV review

Well as promised, here is the review of the movie guys!

Starring: Silambarasan & Trisha
Direction: Gautham Menon
Music: AR Rahman

WOW, what movie is this? its still in my mind….they both (simbu and trisha) gives an awesome feel and performance…. hats off to Gautham Vasudeva Menon. As the director said, its a another different kind of love story.

A unique love story between Trisha as Jesse and Silambarasan as Karthik’ is what Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV) is all about“.

This will definitely be Silambarasan’s most high profile movie yet. I promised he is going to be in cloud nine mood for its result. He should thanks to the director and A.R.Rahman’s music. And not forgettable to Trisha for a her cooperation in this movie….

What can i say more???

About the director, no comments and thumbs up x3 for him. visual all super. really nice. especially the kerala part. The locations look rich and exotic, the kind of visual treat you would expect in an as sweet as it can get romance. And he also directly tells what will happen if you love a malayalee girl (Mallu). hahaha…. im sure its true and you can see in ur real life. Tamilans should go and watch this movie ya….

i feel the minus from him is, the choreography that he used in this movie… its like the same in vettaiyadu villaiyadu and varnam aayiram. Its nice, but u will feel like its repeating.

A.R.Rahman???

As usual, his album always gives the best for the audience. For me, anbil avan, Hossanna, Mannippaya is the nice one. Music wise, all is nice to listen. Need more focus on lyrics part.

BGM is awesome, especially hossana bgm…but its only for  a while after that… omane penne and aromale is conquering. we need more from you sir. Maybe because ARR busy with other projects. emmmm.

Simbu and Trisha???

The best from Simbu ever… he is simply superb. Simple and nice i this movie. I guess everyone will like him. Dance and stunt, no need to tell, he always give the best.

Trisha is also simple and cute… with saree… not much make up… sumtimes u will feel she is crazy. lolx. her character at the end. The name Jassie really suit her.

Ohyaa… there is comedy, but its when simbu and the khaka khaka cameraman to together… really funny!!!

Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaaya is worth watching movie, watch in theater, its a full package of love.

My rate: 9/10

Will make you go crazy

Ulaghethile eveloveo Ponnunggeh Irunthum, Naan Yean Jassie’ye Love Panne??

Asal Movie Review: Aasal Thala Movie

AFTER WATCH ASAL,ASAL...Yeah, im back!!! Just finish Our thala’s Asal movie. what i can tell about this movie??? emmm! ITS A NICE MOVIE. I LIKE IT. This is “my opinion” about this movie. Asal synopsis which was in cinema website is wrong, they simply wanted to twist your mind. Maybe some website tells the true one, but i didnt see something like that.

Im reviewing in plus and minus form:

Plus:

  1. Ajith’s Stylish act and scene. His intro stunt scene by driving a car. really cool. No dupe i guess.
  2. visual is awesome, Paris and Malaysia (Some will realize that).
  3. Sameera Reddy and Bhavana, simply cool. Sameera looks hot, Bhavana looks cute! :)
  4. Especially the Stunt @ Action scenes, the scenes really super. thumbs up!!! the stunts really suit Ajith sir. what a fights ya….
  5. Comedy part is handled by Yugi Sethu, really funny guy he is. Don Samosa is his name. Cover Macho!!!lolx
  6. Director Saran and Ajith give importants everyone in this movie. all looks stylish, including the villains.
  7. The Songs are Cool, not very peppy, its match the movie…. no sudden dhapang kuttu! lolx
  8. Asal BGM, i like the electronic guitar played for ajith’s appearance and stunts.

Now Minus:

  1. Lets start with Ajith sir as well. He maybe looks perfect for the scenes, but when dance, its not… even for stunts is okay. He should reduce his weight. Maybe just his TUMMY (no need 6 packs also can), its not nice at all when he dance for heavy movements. Only this for him.
  2. Director Saran, he should not cut/edit his songs scenes in this movie, i think almost 3 songs just play until half and join wit the end of the song. Haiizz. disappointment. the movie is not really long, then why he did also, im not sure. Or he should add some of the father’s  scene.
  3. Saran also should add about how Shiva can fight like that, maybe show some karate scene. something like he is learning. (Just additonal things that i felt)
  4. Bharadwaj…Songs okay, BGM also okay. the minus part is, one of the bgm is a copy from James Bond movie. Even. in trailer you guys can realize that. Disappointment. Dunno why some music directors like to copy the music. James Bond is a popular movie. Sure everyone can realize that BGM. Its a impact for the director and ajith as well.

Finally, what i would like to say to everyone is, go and watch the movie in theater. its really cool. After watch the movie, share with me ur opinions as well. need to know. everyone has different taste what. emmm. Im Sure that, NO DISAPPOINTMENT FOR THALA FANS.

ASAL = ASAL SCENES.

Goa Movie Review

Think Goa, you are immediately reminded of fun, frolic, women and wine. Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Goa’ is no different as the movie dwells on all these things. With more of a Bollywood feel, the movie is ‘funathon’, that is light and breezy all through without any seriousness involved in it.

Venkat Prabhu has managed to keep his reputation intact. Quite like ‘Chennai 28′ and ‘Saroja’, he doesn’t take himself very serious in ‘Goa’ too. All is well but for few hiccups. The movie sets out to explore the changing relationships among the youths including being ‘gay’. But that’s takes very very little of the screen space.

The movie revolves around three youths who sets out on a trip to Goa only with a mission to fall in love with a white woman, get married and go abroad. The twists and turns they come across in their mission makes up the story.

A spoof of few popular Tamil films and songs does add to the merriment. With Premji, Jai and Vaibhav around, one is ensured of fun and frolic. There are some surprises in the form of Sampath Raj, Sneha, Silambarasan and Prasanna.

Yuvanshankar Raja is the real scene-stealer. A total of 9 songs including Goa theme are peppy and interesting to listen to. Sakthi Saravanan’s camera is equally appealing capturing the sands and sea-shores with clarity.

Goa is Soundarya Rajinikanth’s maiden production venture on behalf of Ocher Picture Productions. Once can applaud her commitment in taking the risk to deviate from the regular run-of-the-mill stuff and try something different.

However on the flip side, the movie might throw some shock to a section of conservative film audience. Also the second half wanders aimlessly and needs an immediate trimming.

At the same time, one has to say that Venkat Prabhu was clear on what he wanted to do on screen and has rightly delivered the same. If you want to unwind yourself, forget all logics and enjoy, then the destination ‘Goa’

Ajith Asal Trailer HQ 2010

> Vaai tappu senjA, kannu kAtti koduthirum…

> Ethiri kannukku agap padAma adikkanumnA, avan kaN imaiku adila pOyidanum…

There’s one more line spoken by Sampath, one of the villains. Sort of glorifying our hero.

> Yaar sonnAlum kEtka mAttAn. Thanakku serinu pattA, athu tappunnAlum atha seriyA pannuvAn…

Haha…looks like “thala” going to rock the show! He is really stylish and awesome look!

Ayirathil Oruvan review

The long wait is over – literally for all. Be it Selvaraghavan, Karthi, Reema Sen or the audience who were yearning for an ‘adventure’ film. Selvaraghavan, who is known for his adapt handling of mind-blowing sensitive issues (read human emotions), should be a relieved man now.

Two and half years of his hard work is out for the audience to watch and relish. But is the wait really worth? To this question, the answer is both ‘yes’ and ‘no’, for the film is a mixture of surprises and dissapointments.

A look at the film, it is evident why it has taken toll on the time. An engrossing, enthralling and entertainment was what Selvaraghavan would have planned. But he is only partially successful in his attempt, as the second half takes all the sheen away the first half provided.

In other words, the filmmaker seems to have been firm on what he wanted to do, but it did not come out with that exactly on screen. At the same time, films on such genre are a rarity in Tamil cinema. One can’t spot a single movie in this genre in Kollywood before. Selvaraghavan who strives for perfection in every frame of his, seems to have taken the lead to fill the void with ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’.

His shrewdness of blending the lives of common man with such complicated themes is amazing in ‘Aayirathil Oruvan’ too. There is no love or family or other such elements in this film.

But what is striking is that a down-to-earth coolie ( Karthi) setting out as a help to archaeologists who sets out on a mission. Quite typical to his earlier films, it is the heroine around whom the major part of the story is set and revolves.

As everyone said, first half og the movie is awesome, an adventure movie with comedy and alot of suspense. Most of the people get upset or confused in the second half of the movie. the 12th century tamil was difficult to understand and there is no subtitle.
but the latest news that i heard about this movie are, director selva have trimmed the movie and add the subtitle upon audience complain and request.

this is kinda new type of movie, there is hero and heroin, but there is no pair. songs were in the flow of the movie. computer graphic was awesome for a level of Kollywood. Karthi’s patient in acting and comes out with new movies, is really give him a score. hopefully with his Paiya which is releasing on 12th of February 2010, would give him a super hat-trick.

My rate: 7.5/10

Kutty Movie: Kutty Review

Kutty is Produced by Gemini Film Circuit and directed by Mitran. R. Jawahar Kutty is an average film for all. You just can’t believe the film is directed by the same man who did ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’.

The film was touted to be a campus story but hardly have you felt it. The characters are flat without scope for anything. Even the actors look pale on screen as if the film was in the making for years. It starts off like a Mills & Boon romance but meanders to forgettable settings. Only Dhanush is good with his sense for comedy. Radha Ravi, Vincent Ashokan, Rajalakshmi and Mayilsamy are there but not there. Casting also leaves a lot to be desired. Why the sidekicks of Sameer are like some hired six-feet goons and not college mates? Gundu Arthi tries to provide some comedy at odd places. The turn of events in the film are not convincing and to some extent illogical. Also the film has a Telugu tang throughout.

It is said Kutty is a remake of Telugu film Arya which made Allu Arjun a household name overnight. But for Dhanush who is already a star in his own right this film is like a spoke in the wheel of his continuous good run. Its time to realize Tamil cinema has evolved and people have already started thinking differently long before Kutty.

Music while, u can feel the Telugu when watch, maybe because its a Telugu remake. If im not mistaken, in this movie shreya dance for 1 minute only. And shreya was not look horrible as in Kandhaswamy. she looks even better than other previous movies. some how, i feel the ending part is like same type as Yaaradi Nee Mohini. “people like that type of movie meh?” emmmm.
Its Nice anyway, i think Dhanush continuously defeat Vijay. This would be victory film for Dhanush again!

Asal Audio Review

The trios of Ajith, Saran and Bharadwaj have proved lucky in the past. After musical entertainers like ‘Kadhal Mannan’, ‘Amarkkalam’ and ‘Attagasam’, they have now teamed up together for ‘Asal’. The album has seven numbers which are different from each other.

Bharadwaj’s penchant for melodies is evident in the album. With Vairamuthu penning the lyrics, it is a real treat for music-lovers.

The pick of the album indeed is a number ‘En Thanthai…’ rendered by Bharadwaj himself. The one crooned by S P Balasubramaniam too is good to listen to. With lyrics not over powered by the instruments, which has been the hallmark of Bharadwaj’s music style, all songs in ‘Asal’ are attractive.

Produced by Sivaji Films, the movie starring Ajith, Bhavana and Sameera Reddy, is all complete and ready for release.

Let’s check out how the songs are:

1. Thala Pola Varuma

Singer: Sunitha Menon

Appropriate and right one for Ajith fans. Bharadwaj who tuned some splendid mass numbers for Ajith in the past has come out with one such song this time too. A racy track sure to become anthem among Ajith fans. It has peppy and groovy beats combined with lyrics that every ‘Thala’ fan would relish.

2. Em Thandhai [MyFav]

Singer: Bharadwaj

The ‘Gnayabagam varudhae…’ number of ‘Asal’. A song that glorifies a dad by his son, the number is heart-warming and speaks a lot of a son’s admiration for his father. Director Saran was right in dedicating the song to Sivaji Ganesan as the film is produced by the thespian’s sons Prabhu and Ramkumar. Vairamuthu is at his best penning the song with touchy lyrics. Bharadwaj’s soft-rendering elevates the mood of the number.

3. Kuthiraikku Theriyum

Singer: Surumukhi, Sricharan

A catchy track with extra-ordinary arrangements by Bharadwaj. The song is brisk right from its beginning. Vairamuthu’s simple lyrics add pep to the song. Bharadwaj seems to have re-invented himself with the song. Surumukhi and Sricharan chip in with their best.

4. Tottodaing [MyFav]

Singer: Mukesh, Janani

A mass number with splendid beats. One for Ajith fans to shake their legs, the song is good to listen to. A touch of Classical raga cannot be denied. Janani’s youthful voice combines with Mukesh’s brisk tone to make it a good listening.

5. Hey Dushyantha [MyFav]

Singer: Surumukhi, Kumaran

Though it distantly reminds one of ‘Yesh Ishq…’ from ‘Jab We Met’, Bharadwaj’s orchestration gives the difference. It is a pleasant number that would go down well with music-lovers. Bharadwaj’s ease at handling singers is evident with the number.

6. Yengay Yengay

Singer:  SPB

Two versions of the song appear in the album. S P Balasubramaniam’s brisk rendering leaves an impression. It speaks of a man’s journey in his life, and the insults and back-stabbings he had faced. A mild version of ‘Saththam Illadha Thanimai…’ in ‘Amarkkalam’ is this sing.

‘Asal’ on the whole, is an album that is worth listening to. Entertainment guaranteed!

YEah, Its True…Im addicted to these songs now!!!
