Facebook Closong : False News
Feb 20th
Attention Facebook and Twitter users: The “news” that Mark Zuckerberg announced that Facebook will shut down on March 15 because he finds running the company “too stressful” is false. I repeat, false.
It’s a rumor based on a fictitious, satirical story published on WeeklyWorldNews.com, a tabloid-style website (formerly a weekly newspaper) best known for past scoops such as “Alien Spaceships to Attack Earth in 2011″ and “Megan Fox Is a Man.” It isn’t news. It barely even qualifies as a rumor.
Pass that on.

Kaavalan Review – Movie that Save Vijay’s Future
Jan 21st
Just back from the cinema…Kaavalan was good, Vijay in Different role. as a Malaysian Indian… my review as below. This review from Havinaash who from Malaysia as well… im totally agreed with his review. so im post it to share with you all.
![]()
Here we go:
From first and far most, I would sincerely thank the director Siddique for such a new experience in a Vijay’s film, not like the usual mass commercial entertainers, Vijay has really selected a very good script after so many years, and Asin has done an awesome character in the movie. Kavalan had so many problems for its release here in Malaysia, fans were always checking out the cinemas since Christmas 2010, after then they said New Year, after that they said Pongal, and now the bodyguard has occupied nearly 50 theaters and cineplex throughout Malaysia.
After watching this movies trailers, pictures, & songs I definitely felt that this was an unusual fare for a Vijay’s film, when the film was released this afternoon at 3PM in Malaysia, I went for the first show to see what was the “SOMETHING DIFFERENT” in this film, and after the 2 hours and 30 mins of ride in the film, I realized EVERYTHING WAS DIFFERENT. Nice Love Story as well.
Producer (C.Romesh Babu) – Thanks for the faith that you had in Vijay and the courage to face all the problems along with the team and struggled for the release, a producer’s biggest hard work is to successfully release a film but in your his case it was massively tested for a first time producer. Hats off for your hard work sir!
Dialogues (Guruvaran) – His dialogues are really hilarious when it comes to the Vijay-Vadivelu-Asin combination, very touching after the interval, and made people shed tears in the climax of the film, and not even one single PUNCH DIALOGUE could be found in the film. You really rocked!
Stunt (Stunt Siva) – OMG ! You are the man ! After so many illogical fights in a Vijay’s film, finally you are certainly the savior for his films. No flying scenes, no chasing a 2500cc car and manage to catch it by running, but there was a fight scene after the Vinnai Kappan song that had fire when Vijay kicked the gangsters and another scene was the sliding bike scenes that was kind of out of the range. BUT overall you have certainly made Vijay’s image to a successful one. Keep it up sir!
I would like to add here. why there is some directors like to see their heros to fly here and there?? it not logic as well… and thats make the movie to flop. for example, in kuruvi – vijay fly from another premises to the railway track. and in sura movie – intro like dolphin coming out from the water. its vijay actually who is swimming. totally silly to watch. PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STYLE OF DIRECTION.
Cinematography (N.K Ekhambaram) – You have proved once again the crisp angles and perfect cinematography as the film needed with your creativity, the stunt sequences after the Step It Up song was awesomely shaped, the songs are highlighted because of your camera angles in the songs especially Sada Sada, Pattampochi and Step It Up was awesomeness! The entire cinematography of this film rocks!
Music (Vidyasagar) – After the B2B success with Vijay (Ghillie, Madurey & Kuruvi) Kavalan’s soundtrack is certainly a different one, no dappan kuthu, no hard music, no build up lyrics, it was just a perfect, soft, and melodious album from Vidyasagar for the first time in a Vijay’s film.
All songs are very suitable to the movie.
The songs Sada Sada, Step It Up, Yaaradhe Yaaeadhe and Pattampochi songs were simply awesome, the best part in the film regarding the music was the intermission scenes background score, 2nd half background score and yes certainly the music stole people’s heart in the climax. Awesome sir! - Agreed.
Director (Siddique) – I would start of by saying that the only director who used Vijay to his core, it started in Friends and now Kavalan, what more can I say, his story, his screenplay, his direction proved that he is a seasoned director who knows what people expect from Vijay, and yes sir as your tagline “Something Different”, you have proved it.
Not to forget VADIVELU who keeps the movie in the right track…without people get bored. His comedy with Vijay was awesome… You will laugh and laugh when you meet them both them together. Really.
And Asin, her role was good and performance is superb. Im sure she gonna rock back in kollywood. Good Luck Asin.
Finally,
Vijay – I didn’t expect a film from Vijay who have performed like this in a love story, a 36 years old man who made mostly everyone leave the theaters with tears, you have really changed the way you act, and you have changed your dressing style. Yes, finally you have changed your hairstyle in the songs, and has finally stopped flying from here and there. FINALLY, I CAN PROUDLY PULL MY COLLARS UP AND SAY “IM A DIE HARD VIJAY FAN”. You certainly made it sir. Your expressions and the way you portray yourself as Bhoominathan was very touching. Hope to see your more changes in Velayutham and upcoming films. All the best , 2011 is yours.
VERDICT : A surprise from Vijay and Asin, please do hit the theaters for a film like this.

GOOD LUCK MR.VIJAY JOSEPH
Aadukalam Review- Awesome
Jan 15th

Its Ponggal’s 2nd movie for me. As promise, the aadukalam team doesnt disappointed anyone. its the story of the reality. How the small issues creates problems to our life.
Resorting to rural milieu is not something uncommon in Tamil cinema but the director has justified the usage of his premise ably. Having said that, he has employed myriad human emotions like unquestionable trust and the breach of it, loyalty, pain, anguish, manipulation and remorse to convey his tale. Rearing roosters, maintaining them and using them for fights are a way of life and a matter of honor and lifeline to many people.
G V Prakash’s music elevates Aadukalam and intensifies the effect over the audience. Songs are rightly placed and none of them are contrived. While Otha sollaale makes the audience boogie, Ayyayo and Yathe Yathe’s melody enthrals them. His BGM during the pre-interval rooster fight slowly reaching the crescendo adds up to the suspense quotient and the spiralling frenzy. The action sequence especially in the climax is realistic and credible. Velraj’s camera travels to nook and corner of Madurai areas and sucks in the audience to the film.
On the flipside, the film is a tad lengthy in the first half and there are patches of slowness but they are few and far between. It is evident that the director has resorted to graphics for rooster fights to abide by the rules of animal welfare board.
In all, Aadukalam is an attempt that requires appreciation where the director has hackled his way through the path less trodden with aplomb. Aadukalam reiterates that Vetrimaaran belongs to the league of film makers who has understood the semiotics of film making perfectly.
Fyi, in that movie got alot of uncensored words… even some censored, i duno how would be the movie if they didnt censored some bad words from the some scenes… even got the words like”pun…sun…myre….” jz for your info only… but its a nice movie. everyone should watch. Njoy…
Siruthai Movie Review – Rocket Raja
Jan 15th

Well well well…. Happy Ponggal to everyone. Pongal means new movies for me, as said… this year pongal we have siruthai, adukalam, and kavalan. But i didnt see any kavalan movies here. I mean in malaysia, mayb late abit i guess. Anyhow, i will give some of my own opinion regarding siruthai movie with another website’s review of the movie.
Karthi seems to be having a dream run in Kollywood. He is like a batsman in in prime form smashing all deliveries to boundary. As long as you are not ready to complain that ‘Siruithai’ lacks logic, the film would work big time, as it is an out and out commercial fare.
As one can see, the movie has enough potential to be presented as a no-holds-barred entertainer. Instead, the director borrows the Telugu version’s garishness and manages only to translate (sometimes even transliterate) the dialogues and comes up with a banal stereotype of a movie. To muffle the questions that would arise out of the language that is being used, the director inserts a disclaimer at the opening of the movie stating that it’s for the benefit of the viewers that every character speaks Tamil although most of the proceedings happen in Andhra Pradesh. But he conveniently forgets the other questions that would arise out of unreasonable sequences that fill the movie. Those might never be answered.
In the little time he’s allowed to be on screen, Santhanam manages to break the movie hall into laughter with his wisecracks. Karthi and Santhanam complement each other as well. Tamannah is just another pretty face in the movie and has absolutely nothing to do other than look pretty and dance gracefully. She also seems to be willing enough to flaunt her navel area, much to the delight of Karthi and her fans. Which brings us to the songs; all of them seem to follow the same beat and are equally humdrum.
The movie is also riddled with crude dialogues; it would still have been tolerable if they were used only for comedy, but in the name of villainy the movie throws in some cringe-worthy dialogues and scenes that are sure to make the women in your family squirm in their seats.
Stunts are like okay very hardcore type. But then the jumping form 10 stories building is too much. because he jz land with his 2 legs with out any hurts….
Songs are jz nice and the videography is nice as well. i can say, its like expected from karthi’s & tammanah movie.
Siruthai is a mass movie. commercial movie with comedy, santhanam have done his parts very well till the end. Mass movie lovers and karthi’s fan. Please watch the movie and enjoy… even you can go for santhanam as well.

Manmadhan Ambu Movie Review
Dec 25th
Adhering to the title in its literal sense, love and cupid form the peripheral element while faith and honesty are the core constituents which have been dealt in a light manner.
Ambujakshi (Trisha) is an actress whose fiancé is industrialist Madana Gopal (Madhavan). Trisha’s profession comes in the way of her impending marriage to Maddy and after a rift between the two, she takes a break from her career on a European cruise with her friend Deepa (Sangeetha) who is a divorcee with 2 kids.
On the other hand, Maddy sends Mannar (Kamal), an ex-army man to spy Trisha’s movements. Kamal takes on this job to meet the medical expenses of his friend (Ramesh Aravind), a cancer patient. What happens in this cruise, whether Trisha and Maddy resolve their differences of opinion and what happens to Kamal is what Manmadhan Ambu all about.
K S Ravikumar who understands the semiotics of film making has attempted to narrate the story in his style but its languorous pace works against it. Although the story is interesting, the film unfolds very slowly and does not gather momentum at any stage. The script sparkles in patches and fails to engage the audience completely. Dialogues are enjoyable in some places like the scene where Sangeetha says – matrimony may not be good but alimony is. The way in which Kamal narrates his past in a reverse mode is intelligent.
There are no words to talk about Kamal who has completed half a ton years of diligence in the world of greasepaint and glory. He wafts through the proceedings seamlessly. Sangeetha overshadows all the other artists in her natural and spontaneous performance. Trisha for the first time in her career speaks for herself and it is a revelation and certainly adds greater strength to her character. Hope she continues this exercise in the future too.
Madhavan teams up with Kamal after Anbe Sivam and is his ‘spirited’ self mostly. His debonair and suave looks in the initial scene accompanied by the right kind of body language for a rich industrialist fits the proceedings aptly. Suriya in a small cameo as Trisha’s co-star in her film is adorable. In their small roles Oorvasi and Ramesh Aravind bring out the agony of illness. In fact, the performance of the cast compensates for the languid narration.
Under music director Devi Sri Prasad’s compositions, Oyyale stays in mind and the other numbers are just about satisfactory. Cinematographer Manushya Nandan adds value to the film. Gauthami’s stylish costumes work right for the script. Overall, Manmadhan Ambu is an entertainer but in parts.
Verdict: A passable cruise!

RATTHA CHARITHIRAM MOVIE REVIEW
Dec 5th
There are many firsts to Rattha Charithiram and its earlier version. Suirya makes his Hindi and Telugu debut, Vivek Oberoi’s first in Tamil and Telugu and director Ram Gopal Varma’s first direct Tamil film. Produced under Cloud Nine banner, RC is a tale of revenge and retribution, said to be inspired from a real life incident that happened in Andhra Pradesh.
As is known to movie buffs, Rattha Charithiram is the second part where Suriya comes into being. Hence the first twenty minutes of the film is a recap of sorts of Part 1 and Suriya makes his appearance only after this. The film begins with a narration from director Gautham Menon who in fact takes the audience through the entire course of the movie with his perfect rendition.
As this film is ‘dedicated’ to killing, revenge, blood and gore, expecting anything else is not warranted. However, there are so many characters (a test to your memory power indeed!) who come and get killed spitting blood all over in slow motion. No mercies shown- all of them are effaced at point blank with small and medium range weapons which appear to incessantly give out bullets. The screen is filled with such gore with an accompaniment of slokas and verses in an obtrusive decibel.
As usual, Suriya has given his best. His commitment towards work shows. The scenes where he fails to kill Vivek and the last scene where he shows an amalgam of joy and sorrow, he reiterates his acting caliber. Priya Mani demonstrates that she is after all a National Award winner. Here is someone who looks good and also emotes well. The major relief is that Priya speaks for herself which intensifies her characterization and the audience is relieved of the ordeal of listening to a voice double. Vivek Oberoi is effective in his role and his body language as a politician is noteworthy. Radhika Apte as Vivek’s wife makes an impact. There are many artists like Zareena Wahab, Subhalekha Sudhakar, Sushmita etc who do their roles satisfactorily.
