Peranmai review and Aadhavan review…
Director S P Jananathan proved his mettle as a filmmaker who can do different movies within commercial parameters with ‘Iyarkai’ and ‘E’. He seems to strike a hat-trick with ‘Pernamai’.
It is a film that is different from the regular rhythm pattern of Tamil cinema. It has action, humour, punch dialogues and loads of heroism but all presented in a different mix that touches both our heart and brain. Ayngaran International should be complimented for taking guts to produce such a film that is strikingly different.
Jananathan speaks about the condition of tribes in our country even after 62 years of independence. Their agony and frustration are brought out in a realistic manner.
its a must watch movie, while its a different story for kollywood. Jayam Ravi’s performance was awesome…the training action especially. Can be said as, Kollywood Rambo style…
RAte 7/10
and for Aadhavan…
Expectations and hopes were high on filmmaker K S Ravikumar especially after the stupendous hit ‘Dasavatharam’. The director who is considered a man with the Midas touch in Kollywood, has tried to live up to all expectations in ‘Aadhavan’. He succeeds in his attempts partially.
‘Aadhavan’ is nothing but a rehash of several yesteryear flicks but the USP is the racy script by Ravikumar, who mesmerises the audience with quick narration. Though it is one of the regular mainstream commercial cinema, what sets it part from other films is that Suriya dons the protagonist.
One of the young breed of actors, he is the one who always experiments with his movies and never shy to take risks. This time too, he has taken all responsibility on his shoulders. The huge star cast including Nayanthara, Saroja Devi and Murali besides Vadivelu makes it an interesting fare.
from my point of view: the Highlights are…
the action scenes, harris jayaraj’s songs, and the 10 years suriya’s tricks…
rate: 6.5/10
